Dr. Aileen Kim, DDS, MS - Board Certified Orthodontist

I believe I was destined to become an orthodontist.  The youngest daughter of a dentist, I had taken on a special interest in teeth and loved dressing up in my father’s too-big-to-fit scrubs.  I attended La Canada High School and then went on to the University of California, Berkeley for my undergraduate studies in Integrative Biology.  I then came back to my hometown and attended dental school at the University of California, Los Angeles.  I moved to Philadelphia to complete my postgraduate orthodontic residency at Temple University, where I also earned a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology.  When I am not creating beautiful smiles, I love to spend time running, doing Pilates, traveling, scuba diving, and being a major foodie with my husband, Paul. Together, we have two beautiful boys, who keep us incredibly blessed and busy! I personalize my care for each patient with an enthusiasm for life and committed dedication, and I tailor orthodontic treatment to each patient’s needs.  My main goal is to help patients feel confident and happy to show off their smiles.

Dr. Paul Lee, DDS, MS - Board Certified Orthodontist

I grew up in a small town in Southern California called La Crescenta. After attending Crescenta Valley High School, I moved up to Northern California to attend University of California, Berkeley, where I obtained dual degrees in Molecular Cell Biology and Economics. At college, I had the privilege of working closely with children of varying ages while teaching Sunday school. From working with them, I discovered that I wanted to interact with and help guide children and adolescents. Teaching them helped me learn that dentistry was my passion. At USC dental school, I was drawn to the field of orthodontics because of the strong bond that can be formed with patients over an extended period of time. My dream of becoming an orthodontist became a reality when I graduated from Temple University with a certificate in Orthodontics and Master's Degree in Oral Biology. When I am not at the office, I enjoy golfing, running, weight lifting, and scuba diving. I can make a mean spicy salmon hand roll and love trying new restaurants with my wife, Aileen. I am also proud to be ‘dada’ to our two special boys, Milo and Dom.

Below are a few photos of Dr. Kim and Dr. Lee on their wedding day and where they love to spend time with each other when they're not with their amazing patients - in the water and with their little ones! They love life and they love their patients, and they can't wait to meet you!

Sandy Reyes - Office Manager/Treatment Coordinator

I grew up in a small town in Los Angeles called Highland Park. I graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. During the years that I was attending high school, I took Introduction to Dental Assistant classes that helped me realize I had a passion for dentistry. I was accepted to be a part of the Dental Assistant Program at Pasadena City College. All of the hard work I put into my career paid off and now, I have enjoyed 23 years working as an orthodontist assistant and have been able to watch many patients walk out our doors with a beautiful smile. I am happily married with 3 wonderful sons. During my free time, I love to take Zumba classes, go hiking, and walk 3 miles around the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. I also enjoy my weekends, because I get to travel with my kids to their soccer games. I love cooking Mexican food for my family, however my favorite type of food is Italian. I am really grateful that I had the opportunity to join the Apex Orthodontics team. I am eager to learn something new every day. The doctors really appreciate our hard work and enjoy seeing the happiness in our patients’ smiles when they walk out of our doors with pride knowing they have a beautiful smile.

Vanessa Solis - Scheduling Coordinator/Marketing Coordinator

I was born in East L.A., but I was raised in the beautiful city of West Covina. I attended West Covina High School and two years later, I made the best decision of my life: to attend North West College and become a dental assistant. I have to say it was an amazing experience, and I made wonderful friends and had one of the best mentors, Mrs. Zsupnik. I graduated as a dental assistant and am fully devoted to my profession. Words cannot express the ambition I have for the growth I want in my career. I feel as though I grow and learn a little more each day, and that small 1% a day makes a world of difference. On top of being a dental assistant, I am also a full-time mother to my baby boy. I'm truly honored to work at Apex Orthodontics. I find myself smiling every day and I'm excited to help you have that exact same feeling.

Jessica Jaramillo - Clinical Orthodontic Assistant/Financial Coordinator

I grew up in Whittier and attended California High School. I married a wonderful man and we have a beautiful baby girl named Hailey. I love hiking, ice skating, and traveling with my family. I remember my friends telling me about their braces, and that's how it all started. The way a person's life could change because of braces got me so interested in orthodontics. I attended Cypress College to become a dental assistant, and now I'm working at Apex Orthodontics, where I am learning so much and enjoying what I do. I love working with Dr. Kim and Dr. Lee. They are so caring to everyone, including their team, which makes this office such a fun place to be!

Nathalie Guerra - Clinical Orthodontic Assistant/Treatment Coordinator

I grew up in Baldwin Park and graduated from Baldwin Park High School. I am a graduate of North West College, and I have been in this amazing world of orthodontics since 2006. At Apex Orthodontics, I enjoy getting to know our patients and watching their confidence and self-esteem blossom as their smiles change. Helping our patients feel comfortable and excited about their treatment is very rewarding. The best part of my day is when patients finally get their braces removed and see their beautiful smile for the first time. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I’m a proud wife and mother of two wonderful boys. I love supporting my kids’ sports activities!
